How It Works (Typical T1 Return)
1. Get in touch
Reach out by email, or the contact form. I’ll review your situation and provide an upfront estimate based on your return’s complexity.
2. Add me as your CRA Authorized Representative
You’ll receive simple instructions to authorize me through your CRA MyAccount. This allows me to review your tax information, pull your tax slips, and communicate with the CRA on your behalf. And once it’s done, you’re set — the authorization can stay active for future tax years.
If you don’t have access to your CRA MyAccount, I can still prepare and EFILE your return — however, authorizing me is the preferred method to ensure the most accurate filing possible.
3. Upload your documents
A secure link will be sent to your inbox. Simply upload your tax slips, receipts, and supporting documents. I will also send you a short PDF‑fillable intake form to complete.
If you have self‑employment income, vehicle expenses, or rental properties etc., I’ll provide helpful worksheets to help you organize your data and source documents clearly and efficiently.
4. Review & approval
Once your return is prepared, I’ll contact you to review everything together. You’ll receive your engagement letter and T183 to e‑sign. Most T1 returns are completed within 5 business days — from initial contact to the point where your return is ready for review.
5. Payment & filing
After the invoice is paid and the T183 is signed, your return is transmitted electronically to the CRA. You’ll receive confirmation once it has been successfully filed.
6. Access your completed return anytime
A copy of your completed tax return is stored in your client portal, available for you to view or download whenever you need it.
